Acupuncture:

According to the science of Acupuncture, ‘Health’ is the result of a harmonious balance of the ‘life force’ or ‘energy’ or ‘Qi’. The disease occurs when there is an imbalance in the life force. It flows through the ‘pathways’ or ‘meridians’ in the human body. It is possible to change the condition of this life force by stimulating the meridian points by inserting the needles or through moxibustion to bring harmony and balance between the body, mind and energy systems, and ultimately heal itself.

The philosophy of Acupuncture possesses affinity with the philosophy of Ayurveda. Both belief in balancing the body and mind. In both, energy connects the vital organs of our bodies and informs how well energy flows around the body. This life force is known as ‘Qi’ in Acupuncture and ‘Prana’ in Ayurveda; energy pathways are called ‘meridians’ as per Acupuncture and ‘Nadi’ as per Ayurveda. The scientific research not just supports the use of acupuncture in pain management; it increasingly supports its use in the treatment of many disorders such as neurological, endocrinological and immunological disorders.
